When we arrived in France in April of 2002, a US dollar was worth around $1.13. and our monthly salary was worth about 3500 Euros. Today that same salary is worth 2541 Euros. Meanwhile, just like in the states, the cost of living has gone up, not down.
So, not only are our dollars buying less in terms of Euros, at the same time we are needing more Euros to live here in Europe.
We have been living under budget so long that it has become a way of life. Like so may of you reading this, in these tough economic times we have had to cut back and cut back again. Since we have been undersupported for some time (our mission says our current income is about $1000 a month under what it should be), we simply no longer have a reserve. We are completely dependant on the Lord to meet our needs each month. PLEASE PRAY that in these difficult economic times that God continues to inspire people to support our ministry and missions in general.
We are truly grateful to those of you who partner with us and we truly believe that God blesses those who give to his ministry. As Paul writes to his partners , the Philippian church, in response to their support of his ministry in Thessalonica; "your gifts are a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice. And my God will meet all of your needs according to his riches and glory in Christ Jesus." (Phillippians 4:18, 19)
We need:
** People who will pray consistently for our family and its ministry
We need a team of people who will commit to praying for our family and ministry on a daily basis. The devil doesn't want Christians doing things that will defeat him, and he is already sending circumstances that perhaps would discourage people who don't have hedge of protection that prayer warriors can provide. Check the prayer page of this website for a current list of our prayer needs- http://stauffermission.homestead.com/prayerrequests.html
** People who will invest financially in the ministry on a regular basis
We need partners, just as the apostle Paul did, who will "share in our troubles" so that we can continue to minister here in France.
** People who will tell others about this opportunity for global impact through the ministry of the Stauffer family and International Teams
