The FRUITS of our Labors...

Service Coordinator
Responsible for coordinating all the elements of the church service, including choosing
the music for the service, so that each Sunday all the various elements work together.

Host
The Host will open the service and welcome everyone. He will make the announcements, lead the group prayer time and will present scripture or something else, relevant to the theme of the service, that he wishes to share with the congregation.  It is important that the material the Host presents in the service support the message given in the service by the Pastor.  Our goal is to have one theme throughout each service.

Here is the flow chart of the roles of the praise team
Pastor
Responsible for overseeing the work of the Service coordinator and giving the
sermon topics in advance so that serviced can be well planned weeks in advance.

Musicians
The musicians will have the responsibility of leading the church in worshiping the Lord through music.  The emphasis is always to be placed on preparing and playing the songs in a way that will best allow the entire congregation to worship God together.  The musicians may also be asked to help prepare special music for the offering time during the service.  The goal is for music to coordinate with the theme of the sermon.
Sound
It will be the responsibility of the sound ministry to mix the sound, as needed by the musicians, in order to help
the lead the congregation in worship each week.  This including running lines for instruments, microphones and monitors when needed as well as working with the coordinator to create the desired balance.
Song Leader
Responsible for leading the congregation in the songs during the praise and worship time each service by singing the songs on the Microphone from stage.  The Song Leader must not only be a good singer and know all the songs well each week, but also able to lead.  The congregation will take their cues on when and how to sing each week by following the example of the Song Leader.
Projection
It will be those in the Projection Ministries job to make sure we have the appropriate overhead transparencies each week and to know when to present them.  If transparencies are incomplete or need to be created for new songs, it is the responsibility of the person doing projection for that week to inform the Service Coordinator at Wednesday for that week so that everything can be in place for the Sunday service.
This is still in progress, but will give a good idea of where we are headed....

Mission Statement for Praise Team at EEF
To use music to lead the congregation in meaningful corporate worship that glorifies
God and edifies the body of Christ by providing an opportunity for intimate fellowship
with God, our Heavenly Father; Jesus Christ, His son; and the Holy Spirit.

Who is the Praise Team?
The praise team is a group of instrumental and vocal musicians who are serving the church
by using their talents to lead the congregation in meaningful corporate worship through music.

Core Beliefs of the Praise Team
· The guiding principle when making decisions of any kind concerning praise and worship
in the church shall be the fulfillment of the mission statement and this set of core values.

·  The guiding philosophy of the praise team shall be that the music is not "performed"
by the musicians for the congregation, but rather led by the musicians and "performed"
by the entire assembly for the glorification of God.

·  God is honored when we bring Him our best.  Therefore the music for the worship services
should be the best we have to offer. The congregation is also best served when the music for
the services is well planned, thoroughly rehearsed, and performed at the highest-level possible.
If the music is well-prepared, it will not only enable the church to worship better, but also will
be more attractive to non-Christians visiting the church who may be "seeking" Christ.

·  In as much as Jesus called us to be fishers of men, the music chosen for the worship
services should not only be edifying and doctrinally sound in its message, but also should
be musically and stylistically appealing to the largest number of people possible.
Consideration should be given to current musical trends and styles.

·  While the fundamental purpose for the praise team is corporate worship with the congregation,
there is also a valid place in the service for prepared music to be played that will minister to the
congregation, such as special songs done during the offering time.

·  Being a member of the praise team is to be considered a ministry position within the church body.
As such, those involved on the praise team should contribute musically, be expected to be in
submission to the authority of the pastor and the elders of the church, and to set an example to the
congregation in the way they live their lives as followers of God's word.

Action Steps
·  The congregation needs to be led through the songs as they are being sung,
therefore the praise team will place 1-3 singers on microphones whose sole
function will be to lead the congregation through the songs of the service.

·  In order for the music in the services to be as well prepared as possible there
should be weekly rehearsals and it is imperative that musicians planning to play
on a Sunday service make every effort to be at the rehearsal for that Sunday's service.

·  The musicians will be under the direction of a Worship Coordinator appointed
by the church leadership.  It will the be the responsibility of the Worship Coordinator
not only to rehearse the music for the service, but also to coordinate the music with the
animateur who will be carrying out important leadership functions in the first part of the
service.  It will be necessary for the animateur to work closely with the music director
in preparation for the upcoming service.  Ideally the director and the animateur should
meet 2 weeks prior to the service and plan the service together so that preparations
can be made, as needed, prior to the musicians rehearing for the service.

·  The animateur provides a vital role in leading the congregation through the
first part of the service.  Because of the number of animateurs in the church
and the varying degrees of musical experience among them,  and the Worship
Team will be constantly learning new songs,  The W.C. will work with the animateurs
choosing the music each week.  It is responsibility of the Worship Coordinator
to finalize the list of songs for the service.    The benefit to the congregation
will be manifold- there will be musical consistency from week to week within
the framework of the first part of the service, and the musicians can better take
into consideration things like flow, pacing, tempo, key changes, difficulty level,
familiarity, musical style, and other logistics.

·  Rehearsals for the musicians will be held on Tuesday evenings each week (7:00)
